Galentine’s Day!

Grab your best gal pals and celebrate!

Before this year I had never even heard of Galentine’s Day. Apparently it is an episode of Parks and Recreation. But when I was thinking about ideas for Valentines Day, I figured what would be the best thing to do if I didn’t have a Valentine. Well grab my girls and celebrate of course!

I know a lot of people don’t make a big deal about Valentine’s Day. I also know it can get pretty annoying having to look at everyones V-day gifts and dates all day on Instagram. So I put together some ideas to throw an amazing Galentine’s Day Bash with your best girls!

Decorations

Initially I thought maybe just a movie and great drinks but I wondered into Target, as I normally do on an almost daily basis, and as any loyal Target shopper knows the first stop has to be the dollar section. The first things I noticed were all of the Valentine’s Day decor and trinkets. As I looked deeper I noticed Target has A LOT of decorations and games for Galentine’s Day. Seriously who knew this was really a thing. Seeing all of the decorations triggered my need to be as extra as possible and I figured why not make this a super cheesy V-day.

Movies

Movies can be tricky when your spending V-day with a group of girls. Some may be in relationships and wouldn’t mind watching romance movies that make you ugly cry and some may be single who would like not to be reminded that they are. I made a list of great Romantic movies and some Rom-Com

Romance:

  • The Notebook
  • The Age of Adeline
  • Me Before You
  • La La Land
  • About Time
  • Any movie that plays on the Hallmark Channel

Romantic Comedy:

  • How to Be Single
  • The Proposal
  • Sweet Home Alabama
  • Because I Said So

These are just a few I could think of off the top of my head but a quick scroll through Netflix or Hulu will give you plenty of great movie recommendations!

Drinks

In  my opinion no girls night is complete with out the perfect drinks. As much as I would wish that I was an amazing mixologist, I sadly only have the skills of opening and pouring drinks. I didn’t want to find anything to complicated. But I did find some great cocktails and even some mocktails for any one under age.

Now that you have the decorations, movies, and drinks grab some snacks get comfy and enjoy your Galentine’s Day bash. This is the perfect time to gush over guys, plan for the female revolution or just get some great advice! Hopefully this helps you plan your get together even if it’s not for Valentines Day, this could be for a regular girls night! Enjoy

XO,

Alisicia!
